Yu-Ting began her studies to become a classical musician at the age of 13. While most of her generation are less inclined to pursue study in the genre, she wished to make it more appealing to the modern ear by incorporating new materials with her music. At TEDxSBU, on November 4, 2016 , she presented her piece "Haya, for solo clarinet and electronics" and described, not only the various elements of Haya, but also shared her thoughts on the composition process.
